Nani invited Carter and I up to her house today. She suggested taking Carter, Kie and Bay to a farm in Barre for some ice cream. The kids had so much fun. They have a small farm with a few animals. They had bunnies, chickens, cows and a pig named Truffles. Carter got to go into a grass pen with the bunnies and feed them. He loved it. He kept saying Bunny. Some of the bunnies had escaped their pen and nobody could catch them to put them back so they were out wandering with the cows. After the bunnies we went over to the chickens and one pecked Carter's finger. Next he fed the Mommy and baby cow. Lastly we all went and visited Truffles the pig. Don't let the cute name fool you into thinking this was a small pig. She was huge. I have never seen a pig so big. She was probably more than half the length of my car. She snorted so loud too. She seemed drawn to me and everywhere I walked around her cement wall pen (on the outside of course) she followed. I admit, I was afraid of her. She looked and sounded pretty scary. I bet she probably wasn't though. Maybe her size is not a reflection of her personality at all. Too bad I was not so willing to see. Her pen was made of cement walls. Thick cement walls. I can't imagine anything less than that would have contained her.
After visiting with the animals (which by the way Carter was able to say each, 'bunny, chicken, cow, pig, and Truffles) we cleaned our hands and had some ice cream. It was Carter's first ice cream cone. He did not make nearly as much of a mess as I thought he would.
Thanks Nani for bringing us to the farm and for our ice cream! We had such a great time!
Bella is getting so big and doing so well!
