Annual Elks Children's Christmas Party ~ December 15, 2007
I do not think Carter could have had a better time at the annual Elks Christmas Party. When we got there and I saw how much fun he was having when we walked through the door I was kicking myself in the butt for not bringing the video camera. I thought of it when we were 2 streets from our house but I thought, ah I don't need it. I can just take pictures. 'Live and Learn'!
Carter did the hokey pokey with me. It was so adorable. One of the joys of having kids is that you have someone to play with and dance with and be silly with witbut feeling absolutely ridiculous. But once Hunter got there, Carter had much more important and fun things to do. Carter spent a lot of the time dancing, running around, and following Hunter and Kieley around everywhere. Carter even made some new friends. He somehow attracted some kids younger than he and they insisted on hugging him. Even when Carter tried to hide behind me. After a lot of play time the kids winded down by sitting on the floor and passing the cars between each other. I hope you enjoy pictures from our wonderful time at the party. (Just in case there are not enough photos for you here, here is the snapfish link where you can go view a slide show of all pics taken at the party Just Click Here )

We played a game of 'Hot Candy Cane' (same idea as hot potato). Carter and I lasted until the last 4. Carter got very distracted because Hunter came in.
Here is one of kids that followed Carter around.

Mom's Club Christmas Party ~ December 14, 2007
Santa came to visit the kids for Mom's club Christmas Party. Santa handed out presents and even decorated cookies with the kids. Carter knew exactly what Santa was good for... Presents. Carter could hardly wait his turn to go up to Santa to see what kind of present he got. (Look real close, can you tell who Santa's elf is?) When we got home Carter told Daddy all about his visit with Santa.

I do not have much to add to this entry. I was not home when this went on but I wanted to post the pictures because Carter was so cute.
A Little Game of M&M toss ~ December 11, 2007
While going through our basement we found our M&M magnets. Craig put them on the fridge for Carter's enjoyment. Craig and Carter quickly invented a game, M&M toss. The object is to stand at a distance from the fridge with the M&M in your hand and toss it on the fridge door and get it to stick. It might sound like a silly game but a 2 year old finds it very amusing. Carter was being silly and tossed it up in the air and it stuck to the edge of the kitchen wall. (There is metal underneath the edges.) Carter tried very hard to reach it. Craig and I found it very amusing. Here are pictures of Carter and I looking at his M&M stuck up on the wall.
Festival of Lights ~ December 9, 2007
I remember going to the festival of lights as a child and I must admit it was much more magical then. When you are a child you do not care so much about how cold you are or how crowded a place is, or care when someone bumps into you and does not say excuse me. Really how hard is it to say those two words, excuse me? I often find myself saying excuse me or sorry when someone else bumps into me. That is right, not my fault yet I apologize. Why you might wonder? Because that is the way I was raised. I apologize to young and old. Oddly I do find the younger children apologizing more than my elders. Where did people's manners go? Or... Were they ever even there? (sorry got side-tracked. I'll get off my soap box now.) When you are child you welcome a sidewalk made entirely of ice. And you do not mind an hour of sitting in traffic to go 1 mile. When you are an adult, all of these factors; cold, crowds, rude people, icy sidewalks, traffic, can make something very unenjoyable. Don't get me wrong, I liked the lights and the Rosary made of giant beads that made up the barrior on the bridge was absolutely amazing. I chose to do the festival of lights over Edaville this year because the drive was shorter. AFter you factor in sitting in traffic though, it was the same. I liked Edaville's warm indoor activities they offered, the warm train ride that transported us around to see all the animated lights, the fireworks show from our car, and best of all, no traffic and no crowds. Last year when we did Edaville it was almost 0 degrees outside and I had a better time. I hope you enjoy the few pictures we took.
