Disney World
March 1, 2007 - March 6, 2007
We took Carter to Disney. He had such a great time. He may not be old enough to remember but he was definately old enough to have a good time. We were a little worried about how he would do on the plane but he did very well. Grammy and Grampy met us at the airport and took Daddy and Uncle Johnny to get the rental cars. After we settled into the house we went to dinner with Grammy and Grampy. In the car Grampy was saying Uh-oh spaghetti-O and Carter repeated it. He is so adorable.
Animal Kingdom
Our second day in Florida was spent at Animal Kingdom. Carter walked around everywhere. It was a new found freedom for him and most of the time he did very well holding our hands. Here are some pictures from our visit to Animal Kingdom.
Right as we entered the park some characters caught Carter's eye. Try telling an 18 month old that he has to wait his turn to meet someone. He never did quite get the wait in line concept.
We came across these elephant statues and as soon as Carter discovered them he went exploring.
After Animal Kingdom we ate at the Rainforest Cafe right at Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately by the time the food came Carter was too tired to enjoy it so we got the meal to go.
MAGIC KINGDOM
Our Third day in Florida we went to Magic Kingdom. Carter turned 18 Months while we were there. Disney honored his special day with a Happy Birthday Carter pin and a First Visit pin.
Carter went on his first boat ride. We took a ferry to Magic Kingdom.
We also got to take a train ride through-out Magic Kingdom.
After touring Minnie and Mickey's homes we got to meet Mickey himself.
Some of Carter's favorite shows were of characters singing and dancing. This particular show was with bears. They all had a song to sing. Shortly after this show Carter took a well needed nap in the Tiki Hut. Craig and I took that as a chance to sit and enjoy the only sunshine we got that day.
After Carter's nap we headed over to watch the Parade. It started to rain but we did not let that ruin our fun. Here Carter is watching all the Disney characters go by.
We went into It's a Small World to avoid the cold wet rain. The last time I did It's a Small World I did not enjoy it too much. Since that time it has been updated and there has been some new additions. It was a nice peaceful ride.
Carter's favorite ride was the carousel. He loved going up and down and then around.
We even got to see some 3D shows. Carter did not keep his glasses on but seemed to enjoy the shows just the same.
The rain started back up and Carter was tired so we decided to skip the final parade and fireworks show and head back to the house.
We had a great time at Magic Kingdom, we only wish we had more time and less rain while we were there.
At the house Carter got to run around and burn off some energy. Then he started to settle down. We even got to spend some time with Grammy and Grampy before turning in for the night.
The fourth day there we visited Sea World. Carter enjoyed the water park the most. He had a ball.
Carter got to meet the character Shamu. Here is a picture of him just about to kiss Shamu. It was such an awwww moment. He is so sweet.
Carter also enjoyed playing these drums they had in the children's play area.
Here is Carter trying to get the dolphins to come over to him.
MGM STUDIOS
Our fifth day there we went to MGM Studios.
We got to see how stunts are done in the movies. It was very interesting. We got to see some explosions and some dare devil drivers.
Carter loved going into the PlayHouse Disney show. There was story time and a lot of music and dancing. Dancing is always a favorite with Carter. We really enjoyed watching the excitement and amazement that came alive in his eyes.
Carter already LOVES the movie Monsters Inc. If you look real close, Carter is the one that Sully is hugging. Carter is so fascinated in all the characters.
After watching how drawings come to life in animated movies we got to meet the Mom from the incredibles. Carter took her hand and tried to bite her. I guess he liked her gloves and thought they would feel good on his teeth. Silly kid!
We ended our vacation with a spectacular disney light and water show.
I already can't wait to go back. Carter will only understand more next time and hopefully enjoy it more than he did this time.
