Well this is my third Mother's Day. I love being a Mom. I thank God for the precious gift that has given me such a wonderful title. Once again Craig and Carter brought tears to my eyes. Craig picked a card out for me that allows you to record something on it. When I opened my Mother's Day card I was greeted with Carter's sweet voice saying Day, Happy Mommy's Day! Love you Mommy. I opened it up today a couple times just to hear his sweet little voice and still it is bringing tears to my eyes. Daddy also let Carter pick out his choice for a card too. He chose one that has the chicken dance on it when you open the card. Carter loves opening it and watching me do the dance for him. He is so silly. Carter also made me a beautiful clock for Mother's Day.
For Mother's Day we stuck to tradition and went to Salisbury with my family. My grandparents take their RV there every year and get a spot overlooking the bridge and the ocean. It is so beautiful there. Every year we go for a walk on the beach and fly kites. Last year we made s'mores and this year I was sure to bring the s'mores ingredients for some more. Mom brought her ice cream maker. The same ice cream maker she brought to fort stage park in Gloucester last year. The one that did not make ice cream. (The secret is to use Rock Salt not Table Salt!) Enjoy our pictures from our fun day.
Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height!
What's for lunch?
Blowing bubbles!
Building Sand Castles!
Bella's first time in the water. It is so hard to believe that just a year ago she was a tiny baby still on oxygen. Now she is a happy healthy toddler.
The guys played catch with the thro-ton.
Carter has been afraid of the ocean since the first time we took him. I thought it would be a long time from now before he was willing to run in and out of the ocean letting the waves chase us. Kieley got him over his fear by going right up to the water. Carter likes to follow her around but it was still a big surprise for me that he was willing to follow her that close to the water. It only took a couple waves for him realize that the ocean was fun not scary. After that he couldn't get enough. We ran into the waves, we waited for the waves to chase us out of the way and we jumped and got soaked in the bitter, numbing water. It was just like being a kid again.
Bella was not a huge fan of how the sand felt on her feet. That didn't stop us from getting a shot of her and Mommy's feet in the sand for the first time.
Making S'MORES. YUMMY
Making ice cream with the right ingredients; rock salt. It was yummy!
